Clinical Reasoning and Management

  • This course includes a research-based physical therapy approach to the evaluation and treatment of individuals with neck and neck-related pain.

Pre-recorded video lectures and supplemental reading material are provided prior to the live course to ensure participants have foundational knowledge before engaging in the live-course. This structure maximizes the effectiveness of live sessions by allowing participants to delve deeper into complex concepts, engage in meaningful discussions, and spend more time on hands-on skill development.

We will provide a clinical reasoning foundation to help participants become more efficient in their examination and treatment selection.

Our live course covers safety screening, examination techniques, therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, and thrust techniques tailored for the cervical and thoracic spine regions.

Case examples utilized throughout the course aid in the understanding and clinical application of the concepts presented.

  • Apply a sound clinical reasoning model to the examination and treatment of patients with neck or neck-related symptoms.

Recognize historical and clinical signs and symptoms which may require referral.

Perform a comprehensive screening examination for patients with neck or neck-related symptoms.

Identify “why” and “when” to implement various examination and treatment techniques.

Implement evaluation and treatment techniques recommended by the most recent clinical practice guidelines.

Demonstrate proficiency with manual therapy techniques including thrust and non-thrust techniques for the cervical and thoracic regions.
